The EAGMA Goat Show for 2017 will be at the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival at the fairgrounds in Berryville, Virginia on September 22-24, 2017. EAGMA will be hosting the ACAGR National Show in 2017. There will be a show for white angora goats and a show for colored angora goats. There will also be fleece judging and an opportunity to buy beautiful mohair fleeces.
Fred Speck from Texas will be our judge this year. Dr. Speck is a 5th generation angora goat producer.
The Mohair Fleece show process: Fleeces will be entered, judged (by Dr Fred Speck) and sold (if for sale) in the SVFF fleece sale. Fleeces will be entered in the Arts and Crafts Building on Friday, September 22rd, 2017 from 10am to 4pm. All fleeces must go on the SVFF form (and pay their fee). Each fleece to be judged will also need the EAGMA Fleece ID form below (there is no additional fee from EAGMA). Fleeces will be judged Saturday at 8am. See the fleece show rules below.
Goat check in will be modified this year and a vet will be on the grounds to check animals from 7am to 9am Saturday. All animals must be unloaded by 9am Saturday and inspected by the show veterinarian. See the goat show rules below for more details.
