The EAGMA Goat Show for 2025 will be at the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival at the fairgrounds in Berryville, Virginia on September 27-28, 2025. There will be a show for white angora goats and a show for colored angora goats. There will also be fleece judging and an opportunity to buy beautiful mohair fleeces.
This is a beautiful location and an excellent opportunity to share your passion for angora goats and mohair with fiber enthusiasts from across the region. The barn has ample space to accommodate our goats in quality pens and being open-air it has excellent ventilation.
Our judge is acclaimed breeder and fiber artist Sharon Chestnutt from Oregon. Sharon is the author of Raising Angora Goats for Beautiful Mohair, widely accepted as the best publication for modern-day Angora goat breeders. Sharon, along with a handful of other breeders in the northwest, is responsible for developing and legitimizing the colored Angora goat breed we know today. Sharon is a wealth of practical knowledge and an excellent educator. She will evaluate the goats and educate both the owners and the audience during the Saturday show.
Our Sunday demonstration is presented by Deeann Ross, from Trinity Farm Angoras in Nokesville VA. Deeann has been in the craft business for over 40 years, from Angora goats to angora rabbits. In her demonstration, she will show the steps needed to move from fleece to fabric as a hands-on fiber artist does it.
